Biden Announces $775 Billion Plan to Help Working Parents and Caregivers

The pandemic has highlighted how essential caregivers are to society, prompting Biden to propose a $775 billion investment plan to support careworkers and provide better jobs and pay. The Trump administration too has put forth affordable child care and paid family leave in a bid to appeal to voters. It is certainly heartening to see careworker protections being put on the agenda, but it remains to be seen which protections will materialize and how platform companies might figure in their realization.
