DoorDash to pay $2.5 million for allegedly misusing worker tips

A lawsuit filed in 2019 by Karl Racine, the Attorney General of the District of Columbia alleged that DoorDash led customers to believe that the tips they paid were going to the customers while a part of it was being utilized to finance the company's operations. DoorDash will pay $2.5 million to resolve these allegations with part of the money going to relief aid for workers and the rest to the district and two local charities.
