Europe kicks off bid to find a route to ‘better’ gig work

The European Union has kicked off a six-week long consultation process aimed at figuring out what better platform work looks like and how to balance the opportunities of platform work and adequate worker protections. Uber, at the same time, has started lobbying for the deregulation of platform work by putting out a white paper that calls for a new standard of platform work which seems reminiscent of Prop 22.
