Nigerian Ride-Hail Drivers Are Striking Over Regulations That Leave Them in the Cold

Nigerian ride-hailing drivers are on a week-long strike to protest regulations introduced by the state, such as licensing fees, taxes and new permit and registration requirements. The regulations do not mandate Uber, Bolt and other platform companies to shoulder these extra costs, nor do they limit platforms from increasing their commissions. Drivers expect their already meagre earnings to take a further hit.
