Spain approved a law protecting delivery workers. Here’s what you need to know
The Rider Law, that requires food delivery platforms to classify their workers as employees has been ratified by the Spanish cabinet. Even though the law has elicited strong opposition from platform companies, trade unions point out that the law is too narrowly-defined and gives platform companies ample wiggle room. For instance, the three months that companies have been given to comply with the law could enable them to trim their workforce to the bare minimum.
