Uber and Lyft Drivers Win Ruling on Unemployment Benefits

A federal judge in New York ruled that Uber and Lyft drivers should be promptly paid unemployment benefits. The platform companies drew harsh rebuke from the judge for the not providing data on driver earnings – which the department of labor requires to process unemployment benefits – thereby causing massive delays in workers receiving assistance.
